Rhyming Bingo Cards

A phonics game for early readers. Call a word and players mark a square that rhymes with it — cat, hat, bat — building the sound skills that make reading click.

Free to design and print · edit any square · 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5

Rhyming bingo gives young learners a playful way to hear word families. Use it in a kindergarten lesson, a reading group, or at home, keep the words below or add your own, and cards print in a couple of minutes.

Because every card is shuffled from the same square list, no two children get the same grid, so a whole group can play while each child listens for the rhymes that land on their own card.

Ideas for your game
  • Call the rhyme, not the word

Say a word like sat and let children mark a square that rhymes, such as cat or hat, so they listen for the matching ending sound.

  • Sort the squares into word families

After a game, ask the group to gather all the words that rhyme, turning the card into a quick lesson on word families like cat, hat, and bat.

  • Print a card or play together

Print a card per child for the reading corner, or share one link and a QR code so a class plays along on a screen during circle time.

Editable and printable

Edit every square. Open the card in the editor, keep the suggested squares or replace them with your own words, emoji, or photos, and pick a theme that fits the day.

Print a whole set at once. Each card is shuffled from the same square list, so every player gets a unique grid. Print to standard letter or A4 paper on any home printer — or order professionally printed cards shipped to your door.

Or play live. Share one link and a QR code and the whole room plays from their phones, in person or over video.
