Phobias Bingo Cards

A vocabulary game for a psychology class or a curious group. Cards are filled with real named phobias — arachnophobia, claustrophobia, acrophobia — and the first to a line calls it.

Free to design and print · edit any square · 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5

Phobias bingo makes a memorable lesson out of all those tricky Greek-rooted words. Use it in a psychology unit, a vocabulary review, or a trivia night, keep the fears below or add your own, and cards print in a couple of minutes ready to hand out.

Because every card is shuffled from the same square list, no two players get the same grid, so the whole class can review the same terms while each student listens for the definition that matches a square on their card.

Ideas for your game
  • Call out the fear, not the word

Read the plain-English fear aloud and have players find the matching term, turning the card into a quick recall drill for the vocabulary.

  • Add the Greek roots

Pair each square with its root word, like arachno for spider or claustro for closed spaces, so the game teaches how the names are built.

  • Print a stack or play live

Print a tidy batch for the classroom, or share one link and a QR code so students at home can play along during a remote lesson.

Editable and printable

Edit every square. Open the card in the editor, keep the suggested squares or replace them with your own words, emoji, or photos, and pick a theme that fits the day.

Print a whole set at once. Each card is shuffled from the same square list, so every player gets a unique grid. Print to standard letter or A4 paper on any home printer — or order professionally printed cards shipped to your door.

Or play live. Share one link and a QR code and the whole room plays from their phones, in person or over video.

Questions

How do I make phobias bingo for free?

Open the editor, pick a chalkboard theme, keep the suggested fears or type your own list, and print. A basic set is free to design and print.

Are these real phobias?

Yes, every square is a genuine named phobia, from arachnophobia and acrophobia to thalassophobia, so the card holds up in a real psychology lesson.

Is this a good classroom activity?

It is. Reading the everyday fear and matching the term builds vocabulary while keeping a whole class engaged in a light, low-pressure game.

Can I print the cards at home?

Yes. The print view is sized for standard letter and A4 paper, so any home printer works, and you can also order professionally printed cards.
