Climate Regions and Conditions Bingo Cards

A review game for the unit on world climates. Students mark zones, weather conditions, and biome features as you call them out, and the first to a line shows they can tell a tundra from a tropical rainforest.

Free to design and print · edit any square · 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5

Climate bingo turns a dense vocabulary list into a game the whole class can win. Each square is a real climate type or condition, so as you call terms students connect the name to what it actually means, from arid deserts to humid subtropical coasts.

Start from the template, keep the squares below or swap in the exact terms from your textbook, and print a card for every student. Because each card is shuffled from the same list, no two grids match and everyone has to follow along to win.

Ideas for your game
  • Call the definition, not the name

Read a short description of the climate aloud and let students find the matching square themselves, which turns recall into real comprehension during the game.

  • Pair it with a world map

Have students point to where each called climate region sits on a wall map before they mark the square, linking the vocabulary term to its real place.

  • Print a stack or play on phones

Print a class set on letter or A4 paper, or share one link and a QR code so students play from their own devices during a remote lesson.

Editable and printable

Edit every square. Open the card in the editor, keep the suggested squares or replace them with your own words, emoji, or photos, and pick a theme that fits the day.

Print a whole set at once. Each card is shuffled from the same square list, so every player gets a unique grid. Print to standard letter or A4 paper on any home printer — or order professionally printed cards shipped to your door.

Or play live. Share one link and a QR code and the whole room plays from their phones, in person or over video.

Questions

How do I make climate bingo cards for free?

Open the editor, choose a theme, keep the climate squares or type your own terms, and print. You can design and print a basic class set without paying anything.

Which climate system should I use?

The squares mix common climate zones with general conditions, but you can edit every square to match the Köppen system or whichever framework your textbook uses.

How many cards do I need for a class?

One per student. Each card is shuffled from the same square list, so a class of any size gets unique grids and everyone plays a fair game.

Can younger students play too?

Yes. Switch to a 3×3 or 4×4 grid in the editor and use simpler conditions like rainy, snowy, or windy so the game fits earlier grade levels.
