Running a Live Game

Starting a live online game, sharing the join link with players, calling numbers, choosing the win pattern, and ending or replaying the game.

Starting a game

From the editor, tap Play online (the gold button in the header) to kick off a game. A fresh game room is created with a six-character code (uppercase letters and numbers; no confusing characters like 0 or I).

You land on the host view at "Ready when you are" with a big Start game button. Before you start:

  • Pick a win pattern from the dropdown (see below).
  • Pick a call mode. Manual, or a timer set to 15, 30, 45, or 60 seconds between calls.
  • Optionally save the game for later with a custom name via the "Save for later" icon at the top. If you come back to a saved game that was already started, you will be asked to reset so you start fresh.

Game state survives page reloads, so you can close the tab and come back to it.

Inviting players

Once the room is set up, share the invite:

  • A QR code for scanning from a phone or projector.
  • A copy button for the full invite link.
  • A copy button for the code alone (players enter it on /game).

Players see a name prompt when they open the link. Their card appears as soon as they confirm a name. Each player gets a unique card, but the card is reproducible, so if someone refreshes they see the same card.

Player cap by plan:

  • Free: 5 players.
  • Trial: 50 players.
  • Paid: starts at 50, and each seat pack you add (through Settings) raises the cap by 500, up to 2,000.

Your live player list shows below the call controls. Winners get a trophy next to their name.

Win conditions and calls

Pick from five win patterns before you start:

  • Any line complete any row, column, or diagonal (fast, classic).

Once the game is running the pattern is locked in.

Calling numbers:

  • Manual: tap Call next each time you want to advance.

The most recent call flips into a big display with an animation. Older calls scroll up in a running list. Players see called numbers light up on their cards and on a shared call board.

A soft ball-drop sound plays on the host side for each call. Players hear a chime when a called number is on their card. Free spaces are always pre-marked for players; you never need to call them.

You cannot undo a call once it is out.

Ending the game

Players tap Bingo! to claim. The server checks the claim automatically; you do not need to verify anything manually.

  • Valid claim: confetti fires for the winner and the name gets a trophy in your player list. The first valid claim ends the game.
  • Invalid claim: the player sees a gentle "Not quite! Keep listening" message and the game continues.

You can end a game early with Finish game (it asks for confirmation). The game-over panel shows the winner (or winner count), the total number of calls, and the total players. Three actions are available:

  • Play again: reset calls and winners, keep the same players connected. No re-sharing needed.
  • Back to dashboard: close out the session.
  • Edit card: jump back to the editor.

Players see a matching game-over screen with a link to create their own card.
