Nursery Rhymes Bingo Cards

A gentle game for preschoolers and story time. Sing the opening line of a rhyme and let children find the matching square — listening practice wrapped in songs they already love.

Free to design and print · edit any square · 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5

Nursery rhymes bingo is a sweet fit for preschool, library story time, or a rainy afternoon at home. Sing or read the start of a rhyme — twinkle, twinkle — and little ones listen for which song it is, then cover the matching picture or title on their grid.

The squares below are well-loved traditional rhymes that most children already know by heart, so even the youngest players can join in by matching. Use pictures for pre-readers or titles for emerging readers in the editor, then print a uniquely shuffled card for each child in the group.

Ideas for your game
  • Sing the first line as the call

Instead of naming the rhyme, sing its opening line and let children recognize the song, which turns the game into listening practice and gets the whole room humming.

  • Use pictures for pre-readers

Swap the titles for simple pictures in the editor so children who cannot read yet can play by matching the image to the rhyme they hear you sing.

  • Act out a clue together

For each call, do a gesture from the rhyme — climb like the spider, fall like Humpty — so toddlers connect the action to the song and stay engaged between turns.

Editable and printable

Edit every square. Open the card in the editor, keep the suggested squares or replace them with your own words, emoji, or photos, and pick a theme that fits the day.

Print a whole set at once. Each card is shuffled from the same square list, so every player gets a unique grid. Print to standard letter or A4 paper on any home printer — or order professionally printed cards shipped to your door.

Or play live. Share one link and a QR code and the whole room plays from their phones, in person or over video.

Questions

What age is nursery rhyme bingo for?

It suits toddlers and preschoolers, roughly ages two to five, because they can play by matching familiar pictures and songs without needing to read any words.

Do children need to read to play?

No. Use picture squares instead of titles so pre-readers match by sight, and sing the rhymes aloud so children recognize each one by ear rather than by reading.

How do I make the game shorter?

Switch to a 3x3 or 4x4 grid in the editor so a card fills faster, which keeps rounds short and holds the attention of very young players.

Can I print a card for each child?

Yes. Keep or edit the rhyme squares and print. Each card is shuffled from the same list, so every child gets a unique grid and the whole group can play together.
