Fractions Bingo Cards

A clear, playful way to practice fractions. Call a fraction like one half, or show a shaded shape, and students find the matching square — the picture-to-number link does the teaching.

Free to design and print · edit any square · 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5

Fractions bingo helps students connect the symbols to what they mean. Call out a fraction in words, hold up a shape with a portion shaded, or name an equivalent, and learners search their grids for the match — that repeated picture-to-number practice is what makes fractions click.

The squares below mix common fractions with the vocabulary students need, from numerator and denominator to whole and equivalent. Keep the list or edit it to match your lesson, then print a uniquely shuffled card for each student so everyone reviews the same ideas from a different grid.

Ideas for your game
  • Call it in words, mark the symbol

Say three quarters aloud and have students cover the square that reads 3/4, which builds the link between spoken fractions and their written form.

  • Use shaded shapes as clues

Hold up a circle or bar with part of it shaded and ask students to find the matching fraction, so they practice reading a fraction from a visual model.

  • Run an equivalent-fractions round

Call a fraction and let students cover any square that equals it, so 2/4 can mark a 1/2 square, turning the game into equivalence practice.

Editable and printable

Edit every square. Open the card in the editor, keep the suggested squares or replace them with your own words, emoji, or photos, and pick a theme that fits the day.

Print a whole set at once. Each card is shuffled from the same square list, so every player gets a unique grid. Print to standard letter or A4 paper on any home printer — or order professionally printed cards shipped to your door.

Or play live. Share one link and a QR code and the whole room plays from their phones, in person or over video.

Questions

How do I teach fractions with bingo?

Call a fraction in words or show a shaded shape, and students cover the matching square. Repeating that visual-to-symbol match helps the concept stick for learners.

What is the numerator and denominator?

The numerator is the top number, showing how many parts you have; the denominator is the bottom number, showing how many equal parts the whole is divided into.

Can I include equivalent fractions?

Yes. Run a round where students may cover any square equal to the fraction you call, so 2/4 matches a 1/2 square and the game reinforces equivalence.

How do I make a card for each student?

Keep or edit the fraction squares and print. Every card is shuffled from the same list, so each student gets a unique grid and the class can all play together.
